Weekend To Do List: Kops-n-Kidz Day, Charity Runners, Garage Sale

Things to do around Lemont, Aug. 5-7.

1. Rolling Meadows Garage Sale

A subdivision garage sale will be held in Rolling Meadows Park, 16526 Pasture Drive, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

2. Cheer for Charity Runners

Individuals running in the 16th annual St. Jude's Chicago to Peoria Run will pass through Lemont on Friday morning. The leg will begin at 10:10 a.m. at 101st Street and Lemont Road, and will finish at 10:45 a.m. at Jewel-Osco, 127th and State streets.

3. Kops-n-Kidz Day

The Lemont Police Department is hosting its fifth annual Kops-n-Kidz Day on Saturday at Centennial Park, 16028 W. 127th St. The event will begin with a bike parade from Lion's Park at 9:45 a.m., and will continue with free activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

4. Free Movie Night

Chris Community Church, 13400 Bell Road, is hosting a free movie night at 6 p.m. Saturday. The featured movie is Rango. For more information, call 630-257-7770.

5. Registration for Clothing/Toy Resale

Lemont's First Church of the Nazarene, 12725 Bell Road, is hosting a children's clothing and toy resale Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. This Saturday, the church is looking to register sellers from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Registration fee is $5. For more information visit www.chicagofirstnaz.org.
