Water Main Break Slows Traffic on McCarthy Road
Village officials say the break could disrupt water service Wednesday; repairs are expected to continue into the late afternoon.
Motorists could experience slight delays on McCarthy Road in on Wednesday as crews work to repair a broken water pipe, police said.
The water main break happened shortly before 8 a.m. in the 700 block of McCarthy Road, blocking traffic in the westbound lane, according to village officials.
Cmdr. Dan Tully said traffic control been placed between McCarthy and Ledochowski streets to direct westbound traffic. Delays are expected to be minimal.

Repairs are expected to last into the late afternoon, Tully said.
Water service in the area may also be disrupted as a result, according to village officials.
