Village Seeks Community Input on Comprehensive Plan

A "Lemont 2030" workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Village Hall, 418 Main St.

Employees with the are seeking input from residents this week as they continue the process of updating the village's comprehensive plan.

A public workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Village Hall, 418 Main St., to discuss preliminary drafts and suggestions for the village's lastest comprehensive plan — titled "Lemont 2030."

The village began the planning process earlier this fall with community survey, which asked residents about their thoughts on Lemont, what they love about the community, what they would like to see changed and what their vision is for the village in the year 2030.

Between Sept. 20 and Oct. 23, more than 400 individuals filled out the survey, according to Village Planner Charity Jones. The results will be shared at the workshop, and residents will have the opportunity to offer comments and suggestions.

The village is also soliciting photos from the community to use in the new comprehensive plan. Residents can upload photos to the "Lemont 2030" Flickr account. They can also use capions to depict the things they value or things that need improvement.
