Traffic Alert: Water Main Work Continues Wednesday at State, Illinois Streets in Downtown Lemont
The Lemont Public Works Department is again asking drivers to seek alternative routes while workers finish construction.
The Lemont Public Works Department is urging drivers to avoid the intersection of State and Illinois streets Wednesday as workers continue the installation of a new water main.
Construction began Monday and was originally expected to be completed Tuesday.
Traffic will be affected from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, said Ralph Pukula, director of Lemont Public Works.

Though traffic coordinators will be on site to direct vehicles, Pukula said drivers should use alternative routes if possible.
