Sept. 20: District 113A Meeting, Farmers Market, 'Fighting Chance' Workshop

The Board of Education will hold its monthly business meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the , 15425 E. 127th St.

3. Farmers Market Continues

The weekly  continues today in the Talcott Square parking lot. The market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  for more information, including a complete list of vendors.

4. A Fighting Chance

The Lemont Junior Woman's Club, and are co-sponsoring a class next month to teach children how to prevent and escape abduction. "A Fighting Chance" will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at , 418 Main St. The event costs $35 and is for children ages 9-15.

5. Book Buddies Launch

Book Buddies is launching its "Reading Is Out of This World" program at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the , 50 E. Wend St. The program is designed to help kindergarteners through third-graders with reading.
