Retiring District 210 Superintendent Sandra Doebert to Receive Award at Chamber Dinner Dance

Tickets are still available for the Lemont Area Chamber of Commerce's "Dinner Dance Vaudeville," which will be held Feb. 24 at Crystal Grand Banquets

Retiring Superintendent Sandra Doebert will receive a special award next week at the the  annual dinner dance.

The event, "Dinner Dance Vaudeville," will be held Friday, Feb. 24, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Crystal Grand Banquets, 12416 Archer Ave. Entertainment will be provided by Diva Montell and Lemont High School students, and prizes will be raffled off.

During the dance, Chamber members will recognize Doebert's years of service in Lemont. She in April 2011, effective June 30, 2012.

Doebert has served as the superintendent of District 210 since 2002, making her the first female superintendent in the school's history and one of only four superintendents to have served at least a decade. She came to the school in 1994 as an assistant principal, a role she filled for seven years before serving as the assistant superintendent in the 2001-02 school year.

During Doebert's tenure as superintendent, Lemont High School has made strides in several areas—including academics, extracurriculars and improved facilities—all while enrollment has grown by 33 percent to more than 1,500 students.
