On Friday, May 6, the students of Everest Academy celebrated May Crowning as well as Mother's Day. Each student offered the Virgin Mary a flower in gratitude and prayer. After the ceremony, the students of Everest provided a performance for their mothers, Godmothers, aunts and grandmothers during a special breakfast provided to them.

3. Two More Chances to See Singin' in the Rain

Tickets are still available for the Lemont High School spring musical, Singin' in the Rain. The show will be held Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12. For more information, visit the Lemont High School website.

4. Kids Day Out

is hosting a to promote children's health and safety on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. near Aldi, 1237 State St. Free dental and spinal exams will be provided for kids, as well as free handouts on children's health, disease prevention, nutrition and safety awareness. There will also be activities, balloons and more.

will be selling hot dogs for $1 and donating all proceeds to Hope and Friendship Ministries to purchase gas cards for struggling families in the community.

5. Rotary Fundraiser at Front Street Cantina

Dine at , 319 Front St., on Sunday to support the Lemont/Homer Glen Rotary Club. All day, the restaurant will donate 10 percent of all proceeds to the group's high school scholarship fund.
