May 11: District 113A Meeting, Everest Academy Open House, Production of 'Willy Wonka'

2. District 113A Special Meeting

The Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday to discuss district reorganization and the closing of Central School, transportation and the high school math program. They will also get an update from PMA Financial on their work to secure tax anticipation warrants by July 2.

The board is expected to take action on student fees for the 2011-2012 school year. The administration is recommending an increase in both book/material fees and technology fees.

The meeting will be held in the Old Quarry Middle School LRC, 16100 W. 127th St.

3. Open House at Everest Academy

, 11550 Bell Road, is holding its May Open House on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Families are invited to attend to learn more about the curriculum and tour the school.

4. SS. Cyril and Methodius School's Spring Play

Students at SS. Cyril and Methodius will perform Willy Wonka on Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. at the school, which is located 607 Sobieski St. Tickets are $5 for adults, and $3 for seniors and children under age 18.
