Mayor Brian Reaves will present his annual State of the Village address at noon Thursday at Crystal Grand Banquets. Be sure to check in with Patch for the complete story and videos from the event.

Reaves : "I look forward to this event for the opportunity to update the business community and interested citizens on the present and future direction of the Village. Within the constraints dictated by current financial conditions, many positive advances are being made to preserve and promote Lemont's position as a progressive and viable community."

4. Flakes and Funnels

It's the 20th anniversary of the 1991 tornado, so the is offering a special program Tuesday night to showcase photos of historic storms, including the blizzards of 1967 and 2011 and the tornadoes of 1976 and 1991. Featured guest speaker will be retired Officer Tom Hess who was inducted into the Police Hall of Fame for his actions in alerting the community to the 1991 tornado.
