Five things every Lemonter needs to know Wednesday.

Happy Wednesday, Lemont! It's only mid-week and it's already been a busy one here at Patch. We know you're busy too, so we've put together five things you need to know today:

2. Mayor's Town Hall Meeting

Lemont Mayor Brian Reaves is hosting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Lemont High School Performing Arts Center, 800 Porter St. Presentations will be made by the , and .

3. Senior Expo

The is co-hosting the ninth annual Active Adult Showcase (formerly known as Senior Expo) from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at the Joliet Junior College Main Campus. The event will feature the Secretary of State's Office offering digital driver's license and state ID renewal, health screenings by local health care facilities, as well as many vendors. Lunch will be provided by the Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts Department for a small cost.

4. Lemont Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

The is offering two $500 scholarships to high school seniors who intend to continue their education in college, vocational or technical schools. Students must live in Lemont Township, and must submit an essay with the following theme by April 15: "What kind of business would you start in Lemont? Why would you locate your business in the Village of Lemont, and how would this business benefit the community? Visit www.lemontchamber.com for more information.

5. "Beauty of Watercolor" at Lemont Library

The and the Lemont Artists' Guild are co-sponsoring a special event Wednesday from 7 p.m to 9 p.m. Local artist Patricia Margaret bock will share her love of nature through a watercolor painting. The painting will be donated and raffled off at the meeting. For more information, call 630-257-6541.
