Lemont Township Hosts Kids Cooking Competition

"Kylie's Kids Cook-off" will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday for young chefs, ages 5 to 18. All proceeds will benefit the Lemont Food Pantries.

Lemont Township will host a kids cooking competition Sunday that will ultimately benefit local food pantries.

Kylie's Kids Cook-off will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lemont Township Community Center, 16300 Alba St. The event is open to young chefs ages 5 to 18.

Kids are invited to show off their culinary skills in the categories of appetizers/salads, entree and dessert. Chefs will be divided into three age groups—5-8, 9-13 and 14-18.

Guests are asked to donate $5 to the Lemont Food Pantries Voucher Fund in order to taste entries. 

Kids should bring a recipe to share; all recipes will be compiled post-event for a community cookbook that will be available for a $5 donation to the Lemont Food Pantries. The book will be gifted to those families who use the pantries.
