"Lemont Fire Chief Carl Churulo joins the Village in urging residents to clear the snow away from fire hydrants near their homes. If your house was on fire could firefighters find the fire hydrant near your home? In the critical first minutes of a house fire it could make the difference between success and failure of our efforts.

"Chief Churulo says any assistance from homeowners would be greatly appreciated.
If you do decide to clear the snow from around a hydrant, there's no need to notify the Fire District, since this is a strictly volunteer program."
