Take a Shot, Make the Assist Raffle for the Lemont Township Family Assistance Fund

Deadline: Saturday, March 31

Description: , 221 Main St., is hosting a "Take a Shot, Make the Assist" raffle to benefit the Lemont Township Family Assistance Fund, which provides assistance to individuals facing financial hardships. Raffle tickets may be purchased through March 31. The cost is $1 each, or six for $5.

The grand prize winner will receive custom Nick's bean bag boxes, as well as gift certificates for Nick's and other local businesses. The drawing will be held between the Final Four games on Saturday, March 31, at Nick's.

Bring Your Business Card to PC's Pancake Cafe for a Chance to Win a $25 Gift Certificate

Deadline: Saturday, March 31

Description: Earlier this month, Patch kicked off a new initiative that both promotes both our newsletter and supports local businesses. 

Each month, we'll have a green drop box stationed at a designated Lemont restaurant or shop. All patrons who leave their business card in the box will automatically be signed up for our newsletter and entered to win a $25 gift certificate for that business.

Our first partnership is with , 1264 State St. The box will be on the front counter through March 31.

Again, all you have to do is drop off your business card. And if you have a friend who would enjoy Patch (and possibly a free breakfast), feel free to leave us their card, too.

Income Tax Assistance for Seniors

Deadline: Thursday, April 12

Description: With Tax Day quickly approaching, you should waste no time filing your returns. 

The  is currently hosting trained volunteers from AARP to assist elderly residents with income tax preparation. Appointments will be taken between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. To reserve a time, call 630-257-6591 or visit www.lemontlibrary.org.

Assistance is also available to seniors through , 1115 Warner Ave. Appointments will be taken on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To reserve a sport, call 630-257-2522.
