2. Library Hosts Harry Potter Program
Steve Frenzel, a Harry Potter expert, will share secrets and trivia of Harry for kids ages eight through 12 at 7 p.m. Friday, at the Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St.
3. Historical Society Needs Craft Vendors
The Lemont Area Historical Society’s 2011 Lemont Street Fair” will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, in front of the Historical Society museum in the 300 block of Lemont Street. The fair will include several antique and craft vendors, a bake sale, kids activities, music, pumpkins and fall decorations from Puckerville Farms, and tours of the museum. 4. Heritage Fest This Weekend
Lemont’s 21st annual will make it’s way into Lemont this weekend with a mix of old and new activities. The one-day street fair, which runs from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday in downtown Lemont, will feature music, food, the Salt Creek Model-A Ford Car Show, and pony rides.
5. Lemont-Homer Glen Relay for Life Begins Tonight
The Lemont-Homer Glen's annual Relay for Life fundraiser kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. and continues through Saturday morning at the Lemont High School Sports Complex on Bell Road and 131st Street. Participants form teams, with each team having someone on the path at all times to symbolically show that they don’t sleep—just like cancer.
