July 4: Holiday Closings, Garbage Pick-Up

Five things every Lemonter should know Monday.

1. Village Hall closed Monday

Village Hall, 418 Main St., will be closed Monday for the July 4 holiday. Offices will re-open Tuesday.

2. Lemont Library's holiday hours

The Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St., will also be closed Monday, however the drop box will remain open. Regular hours (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) will resume Tuesday.

3. Garbage pick-up delayed

Waste Management will not collect garbage Monday due to the Fourth of July holiday, the company announced. This week's collection services will be delayed by one day for all Lemont customers. The company will resume its normal collection routes the week of July 11.

4. Buckle Up, Drive Safe

The Lemont Police Department will be increasing traffic safety enforcement through July 4 as part of the "Click It or Ticket" and "You Drink & Drive. You Lose" campaigns.  for more information.

5. Fill-in editor information

Your dedicated local editor will be taking a brief vacation this week. No worries, though—I'll be back in action Friday night for Relay for Life!
