January is National Blood Donor Month, and the , 50 E. Wend St., is doing its part by hosting a community blood drive. Heartland Blood Center will have a mobile coach in the library parking lot from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

All donors will receive a coupon for $11 in Oberweis purchases. Registration is required. To register, visit www.lemontlibrary.org.

3. District 113A Special Meeting

The Board of Education will hold a special meeting Wednesday night to discuss the superintendent search process. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at , 16100 W. 127th St.

4. Patch Athlete of the Week

Juozas Balciunas, of the boys basketball team is this week's nominee for Athlete of the Week. They are up against athletes from Naperville, Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Hinsdale and Downers Grove.
