Lemont Girl Scout Troop 70013 is collecting donations for the Tender Loving Care Animal Shelter in Homer Glen. The troop is asking for canned dog or cat food, dish soap, lemon-scented Pine Sol and paper towels. Boxes are currently set up at the , 50 E. Wend St., and , 1100 State St.

5. New Year's Eve Eve Murder Mystery Party

The Lemont Public Library is hosting a "New Year's Eve Eve" Murder Mystery Party for teens ages 12-17. Kids are encouraged to dressed in their finest clothes and help solve "the crime of the century. The party will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., after regular business hours, thus requires registration. To sign up, contact Rachel Snyder at 630-257-6541.
