Celebrate Cinco de Mayo: Patch Picks

Every week, Patch will run a feature called Patch Picks, highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off, and more.

For this week, we've got five places to kick back with some good Mexican food and a margarita in honor of Cinco de Mayo.

This Must Be the Place will have margarita and beer specials Thursday, as well as special Mexican fare. The community is also invited to be in the audience during a live recording of the band The V.J. Sings that evening.

2. , 319 Front St.

Get $3 Dos Equis beers and $4 house margaritas at Front Street Cantina in Lemont. There will also be live music.

3. , 103 Stephen St.

Stonehouse Pub will offer $3 bottles of Corona, Corona Light and Modelo, as well as pink taco shots for $3.50 and Dos Equis on tap for $3 a pint. Food specials will include two tacos for $4.50.

4. , 1243 State St.

Slammers Pub and Grill will offer free mini cheese quesadillas with the purchase of a Coronita bucket.

5. Bucho's, 235 S. Bolingbrook Dr. in Bolingbrook

A personal favorite of Lemont Patch Editor Amanda Luevano, Bucho's offers some of the best margaritas and authentic Mexican dishes around. Her recommendations: the enchiladas suizas, tamales and fried ice cream.
