Xtreme Repairs Celebrates Opening with Ribbon Cutting Event

Owners Krysta and Andy Alongi show off their new business while hosting the Lemont Chamber of Commerce's monthly 'Business After Hours' gathering.

The Lemont Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new business to the village Thursday with a special ribbon cutting event.

Xtreme Repairs, 12305 New Ave., opened in June in the Resicom Industrial Park. The business specializes in small and medium duty construction equipment.

Andy and Krysta Alongi, owners of Xtreme Repairs, hosted the chamber's "Business After Hours" event, providing dinner and drinks for chamber members. Guests included chamber president David Bartz, Lemont Township supervisor Steve Rosendahl and Village Clerk Charlene Smollen, who presented the couple with a special plaque on behalf of the village.

After moving back from San Antonio this year, opening Xtreme Repairs "just made sense," Krysta Alongi said.

"Andy's been a mechanic for 11 years, and I've always worked in the office," she said. "We finally just decided to go for it."

Starting a business in Lemont is particularly special for the couple. Krysta grew up in Lemont, and her mother, Kathy Henrikson, is a Lemont Township trustee.

"It's definitely exciting to come back to my hometown and being able to start this business with my husband," Krysta said.
