WATCH: 'Chicago's Best' Visits Sweetwater Deli in Lemont

The popular WGN/CLTV show featured the deli Sunday night as part of its "Southwest 'Burbs" episode.

In case you haven't heard, —the quaint café and grocery shop in downtown Lemont—was featured Sunday night on the popular WGN program "Chicago's Best."

The deli, located at 316 Canal St., was one of several restaurants visited by "Chicago's Best" last month for an episode that showcased the best of the Southwest suburbs. During the show, host Brittney Payton tried Sweetwater's homemade chicken noodle soup, chicken salad and some of their popular sandwiches.

I'm a big fan of both the show and the deli, so I made sure to set my DVR as soon as I learned the air date. Thankfully, those who missed the episode can now view the segment online.

Annette Gioiosa and her husband Dan opened Sweetwater Deli in October 2010. The café menu includes a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, soups, salads and pastas, while the deli stocks a hearty selection of meats, cheeses, fresh bread and side dishes to take home.

Since opening, Sweetwater has expanded its grocery section to include fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries, snacks and Italian cooking products—among other items.
