New 'Entrepreneurial' Cafe to Open in Downtown Lemont

Mindflow Cafe will open next month in the former location of This Must Be the Place.

A new cafe is set to open next month in the former location of This Must Be the Place in downtown .

Mindflow Cafe, 206 Main St., is being run by Mindflow Group, a Lemont consulting firm. It is described by manager Keith Nowakowski as an “entrepreneurial cafe" that will provide a space to work, have group meetings and meet new people.

"The focus is helping businesses be successful by providing access, structure and support," Nowakowski said.

The upstairs includes several offices for rent, as well as conference rooms for group meetings.

Mindflow will provide printers and Internet access, and a caterer will be on hand selling food and beverages.

"We want to help businesses become better, and create new opportunities for professionals and civic groups in the community," Nowakowski said.

The cafe will have a formal membership, which features curriculum that develops a business plan and includes a monthly accountability group and networking opportunities.

"The informal side of Mindflow is just being part of an energetic, shared workspace," Nowakowski said.

Mindflow Cafe is inspired by similar cafes and offices in Chicago, like Workspring and The COOP. Nowakowski has had his eye on the storefront since .

"The idea of a shared workspace is really popular in the city, but there really aren't places like this in the suburbs," Nowakowski said. "We see this as a great opportunity to bring new people to Lemont."

Nowakowski hopes to open Mindflow Cafe by July 1.
