Village officials did not immediately return calls from Patch, but a number of commenters on various websites claim they received certified letters from Montefiori over the weekend.

"Just recieved a certified letter that Montefiori is closing after I had already put a down payment down," said one commenter on Chicago Citysearch. "My wedding was to be in 6 Months and now I have to start all over and find somewhere with the same date. This is so sad and I'm even considering going from a 150 person wedding to go and elope because I cant do it all over again."
