Hardee's Coming to Lemont

Former Wendy's location will be transformed into a Hardee's.

A vacant building at 1150 State St. that formerly housed a Wendy's will soon take on a new name.

Fast food chain Hardee's has applied for demolition, sign and building permits for the property, said Charity Jones, director of planning and economic development.

Also, my family likes Lemont Tree very much and would not want to see them leave.

B.S. Buster February 14, 2014 at 06:38 AM Hardee's probably came here because they heard about the 'Plex Lemont's going to build! More will follow...Ya think? Then why aren't they building it downtown?
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 06:48 PM
Where do you put it downtown? The visitors will find it on GPS
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 06:51 PM
Hank Olenick February 16, 2014 at 03:48 PM YOU posted as Paul, I spoke to Brian at length...We've done the research , Kevin. What did the mayor say about you calling him a liar at your "spoke at length" meeting?
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 08:06 PM
Where you going to build your franchise?
Leigh February 16, 2014 at 09:30 PM
YOU TWO CUT IT OUT!!! Take this somewhere else. I'm getting an email and notification on my phone for every single response from each of you. All because I wanted to say that I like Hardees. We shouldn't have to deal with this. Meet each other and duke it out or whatever you need to do, but knock it off on here!!! Pretty please.
Leigh February 16, 2014 at 09:32 PM
Quit
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 09:32 PM
Leigh, if this don't interest you, turn off notifications.
Leigh February 16, 2014 at 09:34 PM
No, you QUIT IT
Hank Olenick February 16, 2014 at 09:53 PM
I thought you're brilliant sports facility was going to drive business to downtown. People can also use their gps to go home. You are an idiot.
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 10:00 PM
Sure but for traveling teams home is hours away. That's why they'll go to Hardee's and other Lemont establishments. What are you worried about? Your going to stop the project aren't you?
Hank Olenick February 16, 2014 at 10:09 PM
Which exactly what we packed coolers.
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 10:18 PM
Not everyone shops at Aldis or packs coolers. Look at what happens at the car shows when people come downtown on Wednesdays. Some people eat at home. Some people pack coolers in the hot rod, but the establishments downtown do a brisk business with those that will spend money. They even have pop up businesses come in for the one day a week for 3 months.... It's really quite simple, and already been proven.
Hank Olenick February 16, 2014 at 10:36 PM
Yes pop up unlicensed uninspected illegal grills that made businesses like Al Cappuccinos go under..Nick had to have health inspection every three months and paid for them. Maybe you could set up a grill and by bass the health department on the brownfield.
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 10:47 PM
Now Hank, Al cappuccino shut down 10 years ago and not because people went downtown 1 night a week for 3 months. And today it's food trucks (licensed and inspected) selling cupcakes, not carts with pancakes . We been through that already. And aren't you and your group getting the project shut down?
Hank Olenick February 16, 2014 at 10:54 PM
Exactly how many of your pop ups paid taxes? I'm sure Sweetwater Deli would be thrilled to have some yahoo set up a overhead free sandwich stand across the street. Maybe you can have BS 50 menu in McDonald's parking lot. The taxpayers would be ecstatic.
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 11:03 PM
Call village hall and find out! Those are licensed businesses. With More than one day 3 months a year they are likely to lease or purchase a storefront just like sweet water did. You sure are full of flapdoodle today! Even more than usual. I'm glad I'm here to call you out on it

You are retarded. ..you sit on the Internet posting BS under a fake name and you have the balls to ask me about my financial status. Yeah I saw it before you deleted it. It's over son. Done with you .
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 11:15 PM
If you think other cheat their taxes, you must cheat yours, son
B.S. Buster February 16, 2014 at 11:17 PM
And for your financial status, shopping at Aldis and eating from coolers is info you freely shared
Paul Scheufler February 17, 2014 at 03:49 PM
It may not be a good thing for the other restaurants in town but it is nice to have choices and it's nice to see the old Wendy's spot finally being used.
Marie Markowski February 25, 2014 at 12:17 AM
Mr. Olenick, as the cousin of a woman with Down Syndrome, I find your use of the word "retarded" EXTREMELY offensive!
Hank Olenick February 25, 2014 at 05:42 PM
Ms. Markowski, The medical definition of retarded : slow or limited in intellectual or emotional development : characterized by mental retardation.. I think I used it properly in referring to BS.
B.S. Buster February 25, 2014 at 06:02 PM
Sorry you got caught up in this Ms. Markowski, but that's Hank's sensitivity. He hasn't kept up with the rest of the world in many arenas.
Hank Olenick February 25, 2014 at 07:54 PM
Still do.
B.S. Buster February 25, 2014 at 08:39 PM
See Marie, proof's in the pudding! That's why he is so popular.
Hank Olenick February 25, 2014 at 09:06 PM
Proof's in the pudding? What is this 1925 ?
B.S. Buster February 26, 2014 at 07:16 AM
It doesn't callously reference people with challenges, so I guess it's not 1925, or even 1926.
Hank Olenick February 26, 2014 at 08:00 AM
23 skidoo
B.S. Buster February 26, 2014 at 08:28 AM
You're the bees knees Hank! Offensive and proud if it..
