Century 21 Affiliated Shows Gratitude to Lemont Community

The local office felt compelled to give back to its community, with a donation to Hope and Friendship Foundation.

Local real estate office Century 21 Affiliated Dec. 17 donated $500 to the Hope and Friendship Foundation, as a way to thank the Lemont community.

The Lemont office of Affiliated, which was Olsick Real Estate from 1979 until 2011, wanted to give back to the community that has supported the local business. Agent Mary Ann Rodgers suggested Hope and Friendship for a reason close to her heart. The foundation supports residents in need of a helping hand in times of financial, emotional and physical crisis.

"I was a single mom," Rodgers told Patch. "I know what it is to be that person in need."

The money was used to purchase supplies for the foundation's Christmas dinners, distributed to the needy of Lemont Township.

The office was taken over by Century 21 Affiliated in 2011, after the passing of former owner Ed Olsick.

"He was a great broker, so much a part of the community," Rodgers said. "We thought this would be a great opportunity for Affiliated to help out one of our best vehicles for people in need."
