"It was one of the best presentations we've ever seen," Mayor Reaves said.

Tap House Grill describes itself as an "upscale-casual" pub with "addictive food and creative brews."

The menu offers a variety salads, sandwiches, flatbreads and wings, as well as a large selection of appetizers.

The restaurant will eventually be expanded to accommodate private parties, banquets and catering.

Ward said he is "ecstatic" for the new location to open this fall.

"Lemont has blown me away with its enthusiasm. I'm pumped up to get going here," he said.

After working at Bar Louie for several years, Ward opened the first Tap House Grill in St. Charles in 2006. The restaurant has since expanded to Glen Ellyn, Highwood, Oswego, Plainfield and Westmont.

Ward said Tap House will likely have a booth at Keepataw Days—Lemont's annual Labor Day festival. He also attends Lemont Legends Cruise Nights on Wednesdays.

Mindflow Cafe

Earlier this month, the Lemont consulting firm Mindflow Group announced that its would be opening an entrepreneurial cafe that will provide a space to work, have group meetings and meet new people.

"The community of Lemont has so much to offer. The cafe will be a place for people to come together and connect," said Keith Nowakowski, a consultant at Mindflow Group who will be running the cafe.

The lower level of Mindflow Cafe will be filled with tables, booths and couches for people to work and meet. The back area will be for members only, while the front will be open to the public.

The upstairs includes several offices for rent, as well as conference rooms for group meetings.
