Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Slivinski traveled to Miami, FL, last week with the Excel Dancers of the American Dance Center in Orland Park. The girls performed during halftime at the Discover Orange Bowl, held Jan. 4 at Sun Life Stadium. The routine choreographed by Mandy Moore of So You Think You Can Dance, was performed alongside the multiplatinum-selling band Train.

Prior to the Orange Bowl, the dancers took part in workshops with well-known choreographers Cris Judd, Anthony Thomas (Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation Tour) and Liz Imperio (Jennifer Lopez, Nsync, Cher and Michael Jackson).

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: According to Aurora's mom, Lydia Slivinski, "Dance is Aurora's passion. She dances 13 hours a week at ADC in the disciplines of ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, modern, tap and a "core" class for strengthening."

The Excel dancers are chosen through an audition and represent 16 communities." This June, they will perform at Governor's State University. For more information or to see pictures of past Excel performances, visit www.americandanceceter.net.
