Mark Ruffalo to Appear at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday

"Avengers," "The Normal Heart" actor to serve as grand marshal at Chicagoland Speedway's EnjoyIllinois.com 300.

Actor, producer, director and screenwriter Mark Ruffalo will be at Joliet's Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday, serving as grand marshall of the EnjoyIllinois.com 300.

Ruffalo, whose credits include "The Avengers," "You Can Count on Me," "The Kids Are All Right," "Zodiac," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and HBO's Emmy-nominated "The Normal Heart," will appear at the pre-race ceremonies with City of Peace recording artist and actor Blake Rayne, who will perform the national anthem prior to the green flag on Saturday, July 19. 

Ruffalo is also a co-founder of The Solutions Project, an organization dedicated to using the powerful combination of science, business and culture to accelerate the transition to 100 percent clean, renewable energy. The Solutions Project is also partnering with ARCA driver Leilani Münter, who will be running the PrairieGold Solar Toyota in Saturday’s race, as well as travelling from Charlotte to Chicago in an electric, oil-free car, according to a press release from Chicagoland Speedway.

Prior to his national anthem performance, Blake Rayne will join Darcey & Mo and The Morph Kings, the comprised band from of the upcoming motion picture The Identical, to perform a concert on the main stage of Chicagoland Speedway’s Champions Park as part of the ARCA Racing Summer Concert Series on the main stage of Chicagoland Speedway’s Champions Park as part of the ARCA Racing Summer Concert Series at 4 p.m. July 19.

Advance tickets for the EnjoyIllinois.com 300 start at just $30 for adults and $5 for kids, while Fan Zone Pit Passes are only $25, which for the first-time ever provides entry into the active Nationwide Series garage. A race ticket also includes access to the Ansell ActivArmr 150 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, running on the same day.
