Lemont Center for the Arts Plans Open House Friday

The public is invited to "Spark," which will feature poets and local visual artists.

The Lemont Center for the Arts at 1243 State St., unit 101, will present its second anniversary exhibit, "Spark," from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7.

The reception/open house is open to the public and will feature collaborations between the Illinois State Poetry Society and local visual artists.

Poems and artwork will reflect upon the theme, "Is It Love, or Has the World Gone Crazy?"

Many types of love exist, and many of those types are explored in original poems written by members of the ISPS.

Local visual artists each selected one of those poems and created art as a reflection of that poem, with one form of expression providing the spark for another.

Refreshments will be served and poets and artists will be in attendance.
