Whether you're looking for farm-fresh produce or hand-crafted jewelry, these farmers markets have it all.

Burr Ridge 

Burr Ridge Market on the Green 

WHAT: Show 23 vendors in this weekly farmers market. Three local farmers provide "build your own bouquet" wildflowers, fruits and veggies bedding plants and herbs. Also pick up olive oil, ice cream, jewelry, pet treats and baked goods. Weekly kids entertainment including magicians and balloonists goes from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Bolingbrook

WHAT: Visitors to the Promenade can find everything from pastas and salsa to gourmet olive oil and farm-fresh produce from the market's more than 30 vendors. The market also coincides with the free Main Street summer concert series, allowing visitors to enjoy a festive atmosphere, as well as non-food vendors every second Thursday of each month.

WHEN: 4 to 8 p.m. every Thursday through Oct. 13

Downers Grove 

Downtown Downers Grove Farmers Market 

WHAT: Indian Boundary YMCA organizes this farmers market, which has been operating since the 1990's. Money goes to benefit YMCA programs. You'll find fruits and veggies, eggs, meat, oils, herbs, baked goods and more. 

WHEN: 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday until October 15 

WHERE: Downtown Downers Grove 

Lemont

WHAT: Visitors can expect a wide selection of local products, with not only fresh vegetables, fruits and meats, but french pastries, artisan breads, soaps, flowers and plants as well.

WHEN: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday through Oct. 26

Naperville


WHAT: Held at the historical Riverview Farmstead, the market highlights locally-grown items, as well as historical demonstrations performed by Naper Settlement, and plenty of special events, including hay rides June 16, a petting zoo July 21 and a tractor show Aug. 18. Plus, each week spotlights a different fruit or vegetable.

WHEN: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Thursday through September

WHERE: Forest Preserve District of Will County's Riverview Farmstead, on Book Road between 111th and 119th streets

WHAT: With 25 vendors signed up, the market promises a variety of products, including plants and flowers at the start of summer and an array of fresh produce towards the end of the month. Visitors can expect a large turnout and a changing lineup of farmers and vendors from week to week.

WHAT: Freedom Commons hosts its second annual summer market after a successful run last year with the We Grow Dreams Greenhouse and Garden Center. Helping not-for-profit organizations, visitors can purchase items such as coffee gift packs from Arbor Vitae and pet treats to benefit a variety of groups, including Misericordia Heart of Mercy and A.D.O.P.T Pet Shelter, as well as enjoy We Grow Dreams' array of hanging baskets, fresh grown produce and gift items.

Plainfield

WHAT: An open air market at the heart of Historic Downtown Plainfield, the Plainfield Farmers Market allows more than 30 local vendors to share fresh produce and hand crafted goods from local farms and artisans.
