Volunteers Needed for Quarryman 10-Mile and 5K

Can you lend a hand for the May 10 race through Lemont?

Lemont's Quarryman 10 Mile and 5K is fast-approaching, and organizers are still looking for volunteers to help on race day.

Trustee Jeanette Virgilio is seeking volunteers to serve as course marshal, as well as several other tasks.

Over 1,000 runners, volunteers, spectators and support crews are expected to descend on downtown Lemont on Saturday, May 10 as the Citgo Quarryman Challenge 10 Mile for 5K returns to town for its ninth year. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. near Village Hall in downtown Lemont and should be completed by 10 a.m.

Lemont’s residents are encouraged to cheer, play music, ring bells, and write (in chalk) encouraging messages on the street as the runners challenge themselves on the most difficult run course in the Chicago area.

Anyone willing to help out as a volunteer should contact Donna at Village Hall, 630-257-1550.
