"We wanted to do something a little different than hanging out and listening to the same rock songs," said Bottles owner Jerry Kulhanek. "This will hopefully bring in kids and teens, as well as adults."

The Ultimate Outdoor Dance Party will kick off at 5 p.m. in front of Bottles in the Talcott Square parking lot. Price of admission is $5; children under the age of 12 may enter for free.

Music will be provided by pop/dance band I Speed Go, as well as a live DJ. Food and drinks—including hot dogs, nachos, cotton candy and snow cones—will be available for purchase, Kulhanek said.

Although the weather forecast calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday, Kulhanek said the event will go on rain or shine.

"We'll have a bunch of tents set up with lights and everything," he said. "We're really looking forward to this."

Bottles' summer events series will continue Saturday, Sept. 10, with Country Fest. The event will run 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and will feature live music from the Cory Atkinson Band, Yard Fulla Cars and Carpetbaggers Local 666.

The summer series will wrap up Saturday, Oct. 1, with Octoberfest.

"The idea was just to do one event per month to bring people downtown," Kulhanek said. "We want residents to get used to coming down here on weekends and having things to do."
