Registration Ongoing for Lemont Park District's 'Color Me Proud Freedom 5K'

Register by June 18 for dibs on a free T-shirt.

Registration is open for Lemont's new color run, set for June 29 at 8 a.m.

The Color Me Proud Freedom 5K race will include red, white and blue color stations located throughout the course, to blast runners as they pass by.

Participants are welcome to run, jog, or walk the event, which will not be timed. Register on Active.com through Wednesday, June 25. Fees are $25 for individuals age 6 and over, and $10 for those 5 and under. There will be a $3.25 Active.com processing fee added to each registration. Event shirts will be provided for those aged 6 and older.

Particpants must register by June 18 to be guaranteed a shirt.

The run kicks off "Freedom Days," leading up to the Independence Day Extravaganza Celebration held at Centennial Campus on July 3, and will include a "pack the pool," a community kite fly, and a Zumba class to benefit the troops.
