Patriotic Spirits High at Freedom Days Community Kite Fly

The Lemont Park District's Freedom Days celebration continued July 2, with a community kite fly.

Lemont Park District Freedom Days continues to draw crowds during its series of festive events.

More than 100 guests joined in the Sky High Freedom Fly held Tuesday, July 1 at Centennial Campus,

In addition to flying kites, kids of all ages enjoyed games and summertime snacks such as cookies, lemonade and freeze pops.

Next up for Freedom Days, a special salute to local veterans and active military during Red, White and Zumba. On July 2, the park district will pay tribute to local veterans at Legion Park as well as during Red, White and Zumba, a Zumba class to benefit the troops at the Lemont VFW. Festivities will begin at Legion Park and conclude at the Lemont VFW where refreshments will be available along with a special Zumba class (participation in Zumba is not required). The event is free but donations will be collected for the cause at the event. Folks can also enjoy “FREE TO BE FIT” all-day Open House at The CORE!

Freedom Days will continue on July 3, with Lemont’s highly anticipated “Independence Day Extravaganza” that will be held at Lemont Park District’s Centennial Campus.
