Spartans Hockey Club Scores a Worthwhile Goal: Helping Others

Players 'adopted' a family in need and shopped for items on the family's Christmas wish list.

For the past few years, the Lemont Spartans Hockey Club has worked with the Hope and Friendship Foundation to sponsor a family in need for the Christmas season – and this year was no different. The players met at Kohl’s in Lemont last week to shop for the items on the family’s Christmas wish list.

Each Spartan player donated $20, as well as their time to shop for their adopted family. The boys also earned Kohl’s cash while shopping - and used it few days later to purchase gloves and hats to add to their contribution.

Debbie Zaremski, whose son Tyler skated for the club in the past, helped coordinate the charitable event.
