VIDEO: Lemont Lions Give Local Girl New iPad During 50th Anniversary Celebration

The organization marked the anniversary with a dinner at Crystal Grand Banquets on Thursday night. A local 5-year-old suffering from eye disease was presented with an iPad during the celebration.

The Lemont Lions Club celebrated their 50th anniversary Thursday night with a dinner-dance at Crystal Grand Banquets.

During the event, the Lions presented 5-year-old Maddie Wesolowski with a brand new iPad. Maddie was diagnosed with cataracts and glaucoma at 3 months, and often requires new prescription glasses, which the Lions provide.

"Thanks to all the Lemont Lions Club members, Madison is able to lead a normal life of a 5-year-old," said Megan De Saint Germain, Maddie's older sister. "Madison is able to wake up every day and face her disabilities with courage and bravery because of people like (the Lions) who never stopped believing in her. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and our family is more than blessed to be part of such an exceptional village."
