Lemont Closings: What's Shut Down Tuesday (Updated)

Patch keeps you up to date on the institutions and activities that have been called off because of below-zero temperatures.

The extreme cold temperatures have caused closing and cancellations Monday, Jan 6, around Lemont.

The following places have officially called off or postponed activities for Tuesday, Jan. 7. Patch will continue to update the list.


  • Lemont High School—In addition to school being closed, all activities are cancelled, including athletic contests (home and away), practices, meetings and any community-related events that were scheduled on campus.
  • Lemont-Bromberek District 113A
  • Lemont Montessori
  • Mt. Assisi
  • Lemont Park District Preschool
  • St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick

Public Facilities

  • Lemont Park District—UPDATE: All Lemont Park District classes beginning at 3 p.m. or later will be taking place as scheduled Tuesday, Jan. 7, wiith the exception of the Rec Hoops League. The Rec Hoops League has been cancelled for today due to the closing of River Valley School.

    All morning Youth recreation classes cancelled (includes: Preschool, Early Childhood classes) until 3 p.m. A decision will be made at Noon for classes starting at 3 p.m. and later. Aqua Aerobics has been cancelled for Tuesday.

Just to clarify...classes are canceled as well at LHS. LHS will be completely closed Tuesday. Wednesday will be a PLC and G day, as originally scheduled.
