DuPage Symphony Orchestra Concert: Get Out

Still looking for romantic Valentine's Day plans? Patch has you covered.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for Valentine's weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for spending a romantic weekend locally. And no one will ever know you waited until the last minute to plan.

1) DuPage Symphony Orchestra

Where/When: Wentz Concert Hall, North Central College, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville, Saturday 8p.m., Sunday 3 p.m.

Why Go: Broaden your horizons at an amazing venue for a concert  highlighting Sergei Prokofiev's life. The DuPage Symphony Orchestra is joined by the Naperville Chorus and the North Central College Concert Choir.

2) Monty Python's Spamalot 

Where/When: Drury Lane, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, Friday, 8:30 p.m., Saturday, 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Sunday, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Why Go: Diehard fans need no further incentive. If you're a Spamalot first timer, you'll leave asking the question, "Have you got anything without Spam?" Make an evening out of it and purchase a dinner package.

Pricing: $45 per ticket

3) Romantic Night Hike

Where/When: Fullersburg Woods, 3609 Spring Rd, Oak Brook, Friday 7 -9 p.m.

Why Go: Well, yes, it might be a tad on the chilly side, but this is a romantic adult couples-only lantern walk over four scenic bridges. Afterward, cozy up around a fire with hot chocolate. Should we again mention this is romantic?

Pricing: $10 per couple

4) Valentine Chocolate Brunch 

Where/When: The Morton Arboretum, 4100 Illinois Rte. 53, Lisle, Sunday seatings at 9:30 a.m., noon, and 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: Why go?! Chocolate is represented throughout the meal. There's also a cash bar and live music.

Pricing: $36 adult members, $42 non-members; $25 children-members, $30 non-members

5) Downers Grove Ice Festival 

Where/When: DG Downtown Management, 933 Curtis St., Downers Grove, Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Why Go: To see really cool (no pun intended) ice sculptures in the making and enjoy the street vendors. The forecast calls for warmer temperatures over the weekend, so it might actually feel balmy.
