Local aspiring young chefs can pull out a recipe and bring their best dish to the Lemont Township's Kids' Cook-off, to be held April 27 at the Lemont Township Community Center.
The free competition is open to chefs ages 5–18 years old, with entries grouped into divisions of appetizer/salad, entrées and desserts. For a $5 donation to the Lemont Township Food Pantry, friends and family can sample the dishes, then vote on their favorites, judging on preparedness, taste, and creativity. All invited to join in the judging from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Competitors should bring a printed copy of their recipe, which will be included in a cookbook after the event.
Donations of food and funds for the township pantry will be accepted. To register your child or with questions email email@example.com or call 630-257-2522, ext 13.
The event starts at 2 p.m., at the Lemont Township Center, 16300 Alba St.
