Agencies Team Up to Restore Power in Lemont
Lemont Emergency Management, Lemont Fire, and ComEd joined forces to help restore power to Lemont.
Some Lemont residents remained without power Tuesday, the impact of powerful weather that ravaged the area Monday night.
ComEd employees, along with Lemont firefighters and Lemont Emergency Management Association teamed up to restore power to the area, said Trustee Cliff Miklos in an email. The crews boarded a boat to retrieve a power line that had snapped and fallen into the DesPlaines River.
"Battling the river, a setting sun and millions of pesty Mosquitos they were successful and power was restored to downtown Lemont between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m." Miklos said.
