Some Lemont residents remained without power Tuesday, the impact of powerful weather that ravaged the area Monday night.

ComEd employees, along with Lemont firefighters and Lemont Emergency Management Association teamed up to restore power to the area, said Trustee Cliff Miklos in an email. The crews boarded a boat to retrieve a power line that had snapped and fallen into the DesPlaines River.

"Battling the river, a setting sun and millions of pesty Mosquitos they were successful and power was restored to downtown Lemont between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m." Miklos said.

Why did they wait until Wednesday?

They actually didn't. I misread the email. :)

Kudos to the crews that helped put the village back together. Too bad nary an ash tree was blown over, but lots of the rest! Respectfully Bartholomew Sylvester Buster III
