Radogno, Durkin host recycling event

Burr Ridge, IL – State Sen. Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) is teaming up with State Rep. Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) to host a Community Recycle Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 19 at Burr Ridge Middle School, 15W451 91st Street in Burr Ridge. 
“Representative Durkin and I look forward to hosting this event and raising awareness about the importance of recycling in our community," said Radogno. "We encourage residents to help us improve the environment by donating their unwanted items on July 19." 
Most electronics may be recycled, including televisions, monitors, computers, VCRs, radios, tape players, fax machines and telephones. School supplies, musical instruments, books, bikes, and other household materials are also being collected.  Visit Sen. Also participating in the event will be several charitable organizations accepting electronics, household and personal items for reuse. Habitat for Humanity is seeking building materials, while Vintage Tech is accepting several different types of electronic and household items such as copiers, external drives, satellite dishes, bread makers, fryers, hair cutters, holiday lights and much more. AT&T will also be sponsoring paper shredding, with a limit of two bags of paper per person.
