Flags Over Lemont

Dear Lemont Family,
My name is ___________________________________ , member of Boy Scout Troop 49 in Lemont, and we
are providing a service to the community. For a fee of $25 per year, the Boy Scouts will post and retire a 3’x 5’
American Flag at your curb on the following holidays.
By participating in Flags Over Lemont, you will help instill values while encouraging and supporting
character growth in our scouts. You will also be displaying your patriotism when the flag flies proudly in your
neighborhood.
The initial installation that we do, will consist of inserting a 10” long piece of PVC pipe flush to the ground
near the curb at your home and a fleur-de-lis emblem painted on the curb to mark its location. On the appointed
holidays, the Boy Scouts will post the flag in the morning and retire the flag near dusk. Troop 49 will store and
maintain the flags.
Besides helping the Troop and the Boy Scouts raise money for camping, Flags Over Lemont helps build
community spirit, patriotism, awareness, leadership, and responsibility while also providing a service to you.
To participate in all five flag postings we must receive your subscription form and payment by May 1st. The
cutoff date to participate in the Flags Over Lemont program is June 1st.
