With more than 150 million orphans around the world waiting to be placed with a forever family, Bethany Christian Services, a global family preservation and child welfare agency, in partnership with Trinity Christian College and the Chicago Alliance for Orphans, will host the Orphan Justice Conference to educate individuals, families, and churches on how to stem the tide of the growing global orphan crisis.
The conference will take place on Saturday, October 19 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Ozinga Chapel on Trinity Christian College’s campus. Johnny Carr, author of Orphan Justice - How to Care for Orphans Beyond Adopting, is the event’s keynote speaker.
“Most American Christians operate under the assumption that we need to step-up and adopt all of these orphaned children,” said Carr. “In fact, not all orphans can – or should – be adopted, but there is plenty we can do to help.”
Dianne Elliot, author of Global Orphan Crisis, and Rich Metcalfe, program director of Lifesong for Orphans, are also scheduled to speak at the conference. Registration is required and space is limited. A registration fee of $25 includes lunch.
