The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5819 has been in Lemont for over 60 years.  The VFW, as it is commonly known, serves the Lemont and surrounding communities by giving back to the veterans of the United States military.  It raises money through different efforts such as rummage sales, garage sales and bake sales and is able to assist veterans by giving them proper medical care and helping with other needs. The facility features a lively bar which is open to the public as well as an event hall.  The hall can be rented for weddings, birthday parties, graduations, family reunions, Christmas parties, etc.  All proceeds go to support military veterans.
