Whatever happened to the English Tea Garden that was supposed to go in the Front Street Lofts????

I war wondering the same thing.

I would love it if we had some kind of "craft" store (yarn, scrapbooking, etc.) somewhere in this town. I spend a lot of money on those items and have to either order it on-line or head over to 75th St. or further to find the product. I'm not talking about a "big box" type (Michael's etc.) but something along the lines of Memories & Beyond, The Knitche (both in Downers).

Al's Italian Beef, a bicycle shop near the trail would be nice as well

Lemont needs a bakery! A full service bakery where people can orders cakes. Any southsiders remember Weber's Bakery on Archer? I would definitely patronize a business like that here in Lemont.

A good question is: What businesses/services require Lemont residents to drive to neighboring towns? (Bolingbrook, 75th St, Homer Glen, etc.)

Is there a men's hair salon or barbershop in Lemont anymore? Or how about an early morning coffee shop within walking distance of the train station? (I don't know what time Muffins opens). Perhaps Lemont needs a 24-hour convenience store (like a 7-11), because there is nowhere to get batteries or a microwaved burrito at 2am.

I agree with all of the above. The question is location, location, location. Petersons is a great place to find random stuff and now sears is gone its the only hardware store in town. However, it's severly outdated and that whole section needs to be commercialized. Starbucks would be perfect right or 7-11. People hate the corp ran shops but say gap moved in to the loft area. It would boost shops all around that area. Either way we need young blood stepping up and flourishing the downtown area to make it worth investors time.

Thank you Front Street Cantina for last night's fundraising for Indians! You anchor the Front Street Lofts with great food, a fun atmosphere, and a generous heart for local causes. as for what else can join you at the Lofts, how about a sweet shop - handmade chocolates after a great meal at the Cantina sounds like heaven.

Gamestop
Health food shop/Juice bar
Comic book shop

Ice cream parlour, bakery, Chinese restaurant, burger/sandwich shop. Plenty of ideas out there just need to get them to Lemont.
