Rush was also busted in the US after returning from the Dominican Republic with 29 viagra pills in a prescription bottle belonging to someone else:
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localnews/content/local_news/epaper/2006/06/27/m1a_limbaugh_0627.html

This means he went to the Dominican Republic for sex and lots of it. Is he a patron of the skin trade ? He couldn't get laid here, he had to leave the US and why ?

4 marriages & 3 divorces with records sealed ? hmmmm..doesn't seem very family values-ish to me. Maybe he likes wedding cake and tuxedos. whadda think ?

Can you imagine how boring this thread would be if the editor at the plainfield patch kept deleting comments and entire accounts simply because she disagreed with them?

Free Speech can be both ugly and beautiful at the same time, when ideas(poor or great) are allowed to flow like they do here.

It's too bad people can't handle the truth or know the truth when they hear it. If one would just take the time to listen to his whole show and not just the snippets one hear from a piece that has been edited for journalistic purposes one might understand what is really going on in the world.
You know, there are fact checkers out there and his show is just a touch under 100% accurate.

Yes Dorothy, Rush Limbaugh I believe is still married to a much younger woman.....As a moderate Republican, I have never been in favor of Rush's far right-winged stance. However, when he is not just trying to up his ratings on the air, he can have some valid points as do most everyone who really cares about America. It's the coming together of the minds that perpetrate good sense and without logical compromise nothing ever gets done correctly. As I see it,one of the biggest problems with America today is too many people are out for themselves. There is little teamwork and when things go wrong no one wants to take responsibility for their actions.
This great nation of ours could be so much more if it wasn't for the greed for power and wealth. Now don't get me wrong! I see nothing wrong with getting ahead and being all you can be, after all that's what made America great, but helping those that truly need a hand up is our responsibility. "I still like the idea of giving a fish to a hungry person while teaching them to fish and if they are able to fish but chose not to fish then let them fend for themselves."
When the Desecrates have a good idea and the Republicans have an idea that is good why is it not in the best interests of the American people for them to come together and use the best parts of both ideas to generate a GREAT idea. Isn't that how our from of Government is suppose to work, or don't the Grade School Teachers and Collage Professors teach that anymore.

Your cartoon doesn't start at the beginning of this scenario. Where is the cartoon of Ms. Fluke having so much sex that she wants money from others to pay for condoms? Interesting that you make a joke out of the response, but fail to acknowledge the more humorous aspect of this situation of someone who wants money for having sex.

none of this is about anyone trying to take anything away from anybody, nor is it about anyone trying to impose their beliefs upon others.

its about personal health insurance that one would buy for themselves including contraception coverage.

quit forcing your religious and moral beliefs down everyone's throat. if you have personal objections to family planning, don't practice family planning; it's a simple as that, but you and your regressives want to impose your narrow mindedness upon the rest of society and that is wrong.

No, she talked about a friend with cysts on her ovaries. She had medical insurance through the college. Birth control pills were not covered in her plan. She couldn't afford the pills, quit taking them. The cyst got as big as a tennis ball and she lost her ovary and her fertility. She is going though menopause at 32 (?) yo. Ms. Fluke also mentioned a married student who could not afford the pills. Sex was not mentioned one time. Sandra's sex life was not mentioned one time. Here is a transcript

LOL Of course, I also think it's ironic that there is such an uproar over the sexual activity and birth control of choice of women without any consideration given to the fact that they aren't sexually active alone, but there's no vitriol for their male partners. This attempt to derail healthcare reform has backfired on the crotch-watching regressives in a very big way. To insult, verbally batter and demean a private citizen to the degree that Rush has done over a 3 day period is reprehensible and shocking, not to mention extreme and sexist. Nothing new with Limbaugh except this time he went too far.
Mike, please stay away from women. Clearly you have some serious conflicts that you need to work through before you can even hope to have a healthy relationship. Nice women do and can enjoy sex and responsible people take precautions to prevent unwanted pregnancies, and that includes married couples.

Maybe your goal is to be a 3X+ loser like Rush ? You are definitely on the right track. Smart women do not bother with men like you and if by chance one should slip thru the radar, they're plopped into the ejection seat of divorce court quickly.

Mr. Ellison - have you actually read the transcripts of Ms. Flukes testimony? NOT ONCE did she say others should pay for her condoms or birth control so she can have more sex. NOT ONCE. She illustrated the need for companies to cover birth control, specifically for medical conditions. Yes, Mr. Ellison, there are REAL MEDICAL CONDITIONS that can be controlled through the use of birth (hormone) control pills. She retold a story of her friend - a lesbian, by the way, therefore no need to worry about unwanted pregnancy - who took BCP to control her ovarian cysts. So, how exactly does testifying about a gay friend who needs to take BCP in order to save her life make Ms. Flukes a slut?

Considering ALL of radio has 230M listeners, your claim of '200 million a month' is laughably less than accurate. Considering that just 2 shows on one radio station almost double Rush's listeners, your claims are obviously not based on any facts.

Do you think it is publicly funded because the word 'public' is in the name? Do you think Federal Express is a branch of the government because it has the word federal in its name?

I'm trying really hard not to disparage your logic, but you keep proving over and over again that you do not grasp even the basic facts of what you are talking about. Rush Limbaugh is a bigot and a misogynist ( women hater ) who caters to other bigots and women-haters. He is afraid of women and people of color and feels empowered hiding in a studio behind a mic bloviating his hate, lies and distortions to others who admire him as some kind of surrogate father figure. So who are his male fans ?
lives with or is dependent upon a woman, likely an elderly mother
is afraid of non-whites and people of other religious backgrounds
avoids work and responsibilities prefers to indulge in themselves and their pursuit of recreation and pleasure, on mommy's dime, of course.
has a history of troubled or non-existent relationships women and no male friends.
has a history of troubled relationships with women, including stalking and abuse toward women, likely multiple divorces or short-lived relationships characterized with insecurity and a pathological need to control using violence if needed.
an obsession with pornography and likely heavy drinking.
engages in jedi-like mind tricks such as projection, denial, delusion and fits of rage.

Peetee, Speaking of Ed Schultz, here is how a man apoligizes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1mQS3zxPF4
The reason why there was no controversy around Schultz is because he apologized the next day and tok himself off the air for a week. Something a Republican would never do. As for Letterman, please show me proof that Letterman is a member of the Democratic party. Only right wing talking heads put Letterman in the Democrats, which he is not. Besides, he apologized on the air too.
Your crap about Clinton is just that. He was impeached by the House of Yokels for the Lewinsky affair. Willey's accusations were never proven.

I finally had the time to listen to the statement from Ms. Fluke. Mr. Limbaugh you're a disgrace to the human race. I vote republican most of the time and find your comments to be nothing but a nail in the coffin to the party. I have also learned that one of Mr. Romney's biggest campaign contributors is the owner of the station that employees you, if this is true this is a not good for republicans. Since this entire issue seems to be focused around the act of sex we could surgically take care of the problem for both the sexes. Sew it up and cut it off should suffice. Procreation could proceed in a lab so there's really no need for the act at all. I see this as a win win for us all. While we're at it I don't like the idea of paying taxes alone, it's time the churches start paying their fair share like everyone else. They use the government and state services like the rest of us so time to chip in. Fairs fair.

I don't want them to have access to any roads, police/fire, military protection, or any other services that I pay for as a tax paying citizen. @petee:

The last time I listened to Rush's radio show was back in the very early 90's..can't recall the exact date..and Rush made racist remarks and mocked people of color.
That was the final straw for me.
Prior to that, realized that he never ever had guests on or presented any sort of counter balance to his rants. That is boring and insults my intelligence.
I do not need to be preached at or wailed upon by some pompous blowhard who is completely full of himself and is negative and hateful toward others.
Anyone remember when he mocked the Chinese president and the Chinese language?
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/01/rush-limbaugh-mocks-chinese-president-hu-jintao/

Rush has also mocked his own listeners and fans, in case you have not noticed. He has come right out and said that you are an idiot for taking him seriously, and yet, you defend him like he is your kin or best friend while he thinks you are an idiot.

Ralph, life is too darn short to not have a little fun. I lean more to the right then left, but these comments made by Rush are way out of line. I'm a parent to girls and can tell you that I would have taken matters into my own hands had he said something like this to anyone of my daughters. The man is a known drug addict and from what I've been told a wife beater which makes him no better then the same people he's beating up on. For crying out loud he was caught with Oxycontin, why wasn't he thrown in jail for this. The man, only because he has a johnson between his legs, is an addict with a God ego who needs serious help. His horse and pony show backfired on the Republican party. You wait and see what happens in November, the coffin has been nailed shut.

that matter was already settled. the recent hearings were about a proposed bill which was voted down, which would allow employers to reject any part of healthcare reform that they, the employer, might find " morally objectional " . This bill would have had far reaching impact to permit any employer to deny coverage for any reason. Examply: Christian Scientists believe that diet and vitamins will cure just about anything. They could in theory refuse to cover everything except diet and vitamins. Likewise, Jehovahs Witnesses forbid blood transfustions. This would get the JW's a way out of covering transfusions.
You keep on spinning the same nonsense about how your religious freedoms are under attack when in reality you folks are doing the attacking.

The Republican party I remembered believed in higher standards and had the utmost regard for a higher education. When the phrase "sluts like to be smacked around" is used it's nothing more than trailer trash comments. The language used by some on here is immature 11 and 12 year old slang talk. Re-read some of these comments and tell me how educated some of these posters sound, not too bright. If you're going to argue your point at least try a few new choice words, the redundant use of "moron" has worn out it's usefulness. If you read further into these comments voyeurism in the form of words has taken hold of some of these post. One is feeding off the other and it's no longer about contraception but the thrill and excitement that's expelled from the responses.

You say you want to post my address and employment status, so you have no problem with a multi million dollar lawsuit which would then result in your name and address being made public along with a nice change in your credit score, if you comprehend what that's all about. Since you have more than Letterman I'm sure some out of court settlement would suffice. I ponder where you and Petee measure on the Benit-Simon Scale, or maybe you are one in the same. What I find sad in all of this is that the original intent with the Issa hearings was to bring to light how wrong the presidential mandate is to force Catholic/religious institutions to provide a broad range of contraceptives to their employees. This mandate clearly goes against the Catholic teachings, and being no religious scholar, I will just say it goes against other religions conscience. This has turned into a discussion/debate on women's health instead of a Constitutional issue. Women have usually always been able to obtain birth control be it free at a clinic or over the counter at a drug store. That probably won't change. If we don't all stick together and say "Mr. President you can't force us to do this or that", we won't live in the greatest country God created. Please people, get off the contraceptive band wagon and start seeing what is really going on in the world. Find a website that will tell the truth and do your own homework. Iran wants nukes, Syria is a mess, we have over 40 some million people here getting some kind of government aid, groups of people are being pitted against each other for one reason or another. It didn't used to be like this. Elections have consequences, please, once again, do your homework and choose the right person to help our country this November.

@Judy: you are wrong. the matter of catholic institutions was already settled but to the control freaks, that was not enough. they wish to extend their dogma and beliefs onto everyone else by using religion to undermine healthcare reform.

The hearings were about a proposed amendment which would have allowed insurance companies to claim a " moral highground " of their own choosing to deny healthcare to women. This was a huge expansion from the origional bruhaha about catholic institutions not covering for birth control.

This wide reaching amendment was voted down, as it should have been. Don't want to take the pill ? Then don't, but you have no right to force your personal beliefs upon others.
The GOP will pay a huge price for this and for aquiescing to bigot and woman hater Rush Limbaugh.

If I've learned nothing else from this discussion, it's that conservatives, at least ones who claim to be conservative and post on the Patch are fairly mean spirited. They get upset easily and are self centered. They really don't care about people who are truly in need and require some assistance to get by on a day to day bases. They enjoy making up things and numbers and label them as facts. All I know is that as I go about my day, I see the positive in most people. Most people have a smile on their face and love to help others, or at least try. Based on this discussion, if I see someone with a frown, I'll have to assume they are a conservative clown.

You can do some homework and fact check this.....when left leaning opinionists and commentators make inappropriate remarks the right asks for an apology. When a right leaning opinionist/commentator makes inapprpriate remarks the left asks for an apology and over 87% of the time goes after the advertisers. They ask and put pressure on them to leave and the person, station, or corporation that advertises. They ask the listeners to boycott the commentator, the station, and the advertiser. Why, because they are anti-capitalist and propagandists. The only thing a boycott does is hurts any capitaists trying to earn money. The advertisers do not necessarily agree with the opinions of the commentators but the left doesn't care. They just want the right silenced, the advertisers to lose money (99%'s are anti-capitalist), and more fuel for the propaganda machine. You can see in this column how they focus on HOW MANY advertisers have left. That is because the Left pushes that agenda. Check it out. They create their own dialogue for their own propaganda.

THANK YOU ERIN!!!! IMO he should have been axed along time ago. Everything that came out of his mouth was vial. The debates that are common on here turned into wild west shoot outs. I know everyone has their own opinion regarding the pill for contraception and whether or not it should be a covered expense. I can tell you that I was one of the many who took it for medical reasons. At the age of 38, I went through a bilateral mastectomy, followed by radiation and reconstructive surgery. During my treatment I suffered a mild heart attack and I had a cyst that ruptured. For 8 months I was in and out of the hospital and needless to say my insurance company cancelled me, I was high risk. When the cyst was removed it was discovered that I had endometriosis and the medical protocol for that was "the pill". At that time the $18.00 a month was a huge expense. I had no more medical insurance, lost my job and I was fighting for my life because I didn't want to leave my children motherless. Today I pay $1800.00 a month for heath care and have no prescription coverage. While some might view the pill as a means of sexual acceptance, it is much more than that for thousands of women. I can only pray that women are given this "medication" because the other alternative is a hysterectomy and trust me with that comes a whole different set of problems. Taking the pill away is only the beginning, wait until they take something that effects your children.

First, I do have a problem with a 30 year old law student attending a pricey private law school in a very high cost of living area demanding that taxpayers foot the bill for her contraceptives. As a parent, I would be mortified if it were my daughter. I don't believe the government or taxpayers have an interest in promoting consequence free sex.
Secondly, all the hub-bub and posturing from the politicians denouncing Rush sickens me, yet the same politicians specifically shy away from denouncing Bill Maher for calling Sarah Palin a c**t and a t**t, and other prominent people for saying things about conservatives that would make Rush blush. And our president happily accepts $1M from Maher, yet cares not that he should explain to his daughters why Maher's comments are OK, but Rush is wrong.

She didn't. As a matter of fact, she didn't discuss her business at all. This is nothing more than rightwing spin and lies.
Additionally, Rush Limbaugh is the head of the GOP and a keynote speaker at CPAC. He is the GOP and this 3 days of rage directed at this young woman over public airwaves was slanderous, likely a FCC violation and reprehensible.
So far only Ron Paul has condemned this battering by Rush. The rest are scared to death to cross Rush; absolutely terrified like the wimps they are. To me this can mean only one thing: they agree with Rush and for that the GOP will pay a huge price at the pols.

Some of these arguments posted here are so friggin childish, adults acting like spoiled little kids. "He called me names", "no he said it first" - that is grade school stuff. Do you think Rush or Maher gives a flying crap about any of us? Why do people make themselves look like complete losers by defending their idiotic comments.

Some people keep bringing up their problems with alleged biases shown by The Patch. If there is are biases (or not) so be it - stop reading the Patch. People can't demand a right to hold their own biases and promote those in their own free speech and then say this person, or this news organization needs to think like me. I don't watch Fox News because of how biased they are and I don't go on their message board and complain about them being biased. I choose not to watch it and it sounds like some of you should choose not to read the Patch instead of coming on and whining about unfair coverage because the Patch didn't have an article about Maher.

This thread caught my eye as I was reading the news. You people need to move on. From the skimming I did, I see that everyone has their own view on things and many of you will fight to the death and waste many hours in front of your computers in hopes of proving your point. Don't you get it people? The "other" side will not change their positions, no matter how many names you call each other and how much you attempt to prove your point. The beauty of America is that we are all different. Now go do something worthwhile please and stop your ridiculous bickering.

@Eileen:

Are you the hallway monitor ? If you don't like this blog thread, leave.
It's that simple, and no, it's is not impossible for people to change their minds provided they are open-minded to begin with. Take this matter of contraceptives, for example. If I were a rightwing conservative, I would be very unhappy over the lies and deliberate misrepresentation of the facts by the rightwing spinners, such as " rich college students want taxpayers to pay for their birth control pills..: and would start taking a much closer look at other issues where only the official republican party line was presented as truth. This can be a scary journey for some people.

For some, it can be as bad as finding out your beloved spouse has been cheating on you. You go thru similiar stages: denial-shock-anger-acceptance and it all started by
asking questions and not being afraid of the answers.

Georgetown Law Students are "guaranteed" $ 160K in their first year after graduation from Georgetown Law School. Guess what, when she gets off "tour" and back to her studies (or whatever she does), and graduates, if she graduates, she will be a 1%'er.....Not bad, eh? Maybe their is a reason thshe is painted that way.

New Flash: despite Rush's statements to the contrary, his advertisers are departing in droves. Today, of 87 commercials during his " excrement in broadcasting ", 76 were public service announcements which bring in no revenues.
The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Hello, Mr. McLean, your room is ready. Yes, right this way... this one with no windows and padded walls. And please put this nice white jacket on. Don't worry, I'll take care of the zippers for you. Yes, we will need to take your shoe laces, too. Thank you. I'll be back with your medication in just a few minutes. Yes, the pills will make the "evil liberal voices" go away. We'll take good care of you here.
