Sign up for Lemont Park District’s Indoor Triathalon
Swim, bike and run in event Sunday morning at The CORE Fitness and Aquatics Complex.
Are you keeping your New Year’s resolution to get in shape by working on your abs and strengthening your core? Then why not sign up for Lemont Park District’s CORE Indoor Triathalon this Sunday – and see what your newly-in-shape body can do?
The triathalon, which will begin at 7 a.m. at The CORE Fitness and Aquatics Complex at 16050 127th St., will challenge participants of all ability levels to swim for 10 minutes, bike for 15 minutes and run for 15 minutes. The event is limited to participants ages 14 and older.
The fee is $30 each for residents of Lemont Park District and $45 per person for nonresidents. CORE and CORE FIT members will receive a $5 fee discount. Triathalon participants should bring a swimsuit, and appropriate running/biking attire including athletic shoes and a water bottle. Check-in will take place from 6-6:45 a.m. Participants will be assigned a heat start time, with 10 athletes competing per heat, and scores will be measured by the recorded distance traveled for each portion of the race.
Overall male and female winners from each event will win a plaque and first- through third-place winners in each gender/group will receive medals. The event will also feature post-race refreshments for participants.
The Lemont Park District CORE Triathalon is part of a series of the Midwest Indoor Sprint Triathalon (MIST), which includes park districts in Arlington Heights, Bartlett, Bolingbrook, Elk Grove, Oak Brook and South Barrington.
