Sept. 16: Curious George Birthday Party, Animal Shelter Fundraiser, Girls Night Out

2. Garage Sale at Lithuanian World Center

A "garage sale" will be held Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lithuanian World Center, 14911 E. 127th St. Clothes, toys, household items and books will be sold to raise money for the center's daily operations. For more information, visit www.lithuanianworldcenter.org.

3. TLC Animal Shelter Garage Sale

Tender Loving Care Animal Shelter in Homer Glen will have it's first Christmas Garage Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday to raise money to help defray the rising cost of helping animals in need. The sale will take place at 422 Hillview Court in Lemont.

4. Curious George Birthday Party

The Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St., is hosting a birthday party for Curious George author H.A. Rey at 4 p.m. Friday. There will be cake, games and a Curious George movie. The event is for children ages 4-8 and requires registration. For more information, visit www.lemontlibrary.org.

5. Girls Night Out

The Lemont Junior Woman's Club is hosting "Girls Night Out" from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at the Slovenian Catholic Center, 14252 Main St. The event will including pampering, shopping, fashion and music. Tickets are $25. For more information, visit www.lemontjuniorwomansclub.org.
