Illinois Primary: Romney, Santorum, Gingrich or Paul? Tell Us Your Pick

Republican turnout was high for Early Voting in suburban Cook County. Take the Patch primary poll, and tell your neighbors who deserves your primary vote.

 

The day has finally arrived.

The Illinois primary is Tuesday and the state's 69 delegates are up for grabs in the race for the GOP presidential nomination.

As local voters prepare to head to the polls, frontrunner Mitt Romney scored another victory in Puerto Rico, bringing his delegate count up to 521, far ahead of opponents Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. To win the primary battle, one Republican will have to snag 2,286 delegates.

Lemont Patch is polling its readers to gauge their interest in the election, the candidates and what issues are most important to them. This poll will be published each week until the end of the election season.

And at the end of the Illinois primary and general election (Nov. 8), we hope these numbers will provide insight into how attitudes and ideologies shifted throughout what seems sure to be a cutthroat political atmosphere.
