OBITUARY: Frank Leslie Doll
The U.S. Army veteran and former Chicago firefighter died Oct. 20 at age 86. Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Plymouth, IN, and Thursday, Oct. 27, in Lemont, IL.

Frank Leslie Doll, 86, of Bourbon, IN, and once long time active member of Lemont Township and the Lemont Fire Department, American Legion and VFW passed away at home at 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.
Frank was born in Oak Park, IL, on Aug. 24, 1925. He was the son of Leslie F. Doll and Josephine Newberg Doll. He graduated from Austin High School in 1943 and Wright Jr. College in IL.
He served honorably in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 as a Tech Sergeant, T-5 with the 1346th Combat Engineers in Europe and Okinawa during WWII.
On November 19, 1944, in Franklin, LA., Frank was married to Mary Ann Grajkowski (who was from Chicago, IL). They lived in Chicago for years after which they relocated their family to Lemont Township in Illinois where they were long time members of the community. Frank and Mary Ann had been parishioners of St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lemont IL. and then shortly after St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Lemont IL..
Frank was a Proud Chicago Firefighter for 23 plus years, last serving with Engine Co. 129. He retired in 1978. He was a volunteer Firefighter in Lemont, IL. for 10 years.
Frank was also a Master Carpenter in the Illinois carpenters Union No. 10. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW in Lemont IL.
Frank’s first wife Mary Ann (May she rest in peace) passed away on January 19, 1986
Frank remarried a wonderful lady Dolores (Kelly) McCauley on July 1, 1989 in Chicago,
Frank and Dolores lived in Illinois for a while moved from Illinois to live in Plymouth IN, and then Bourbon IN. where they have lived for many years and parishioners at St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth IN..
Frank is survived by his devoted wife Dolores of Bourbon IN. and his brother Michael Anthony Doll of Las Vegas Nevada, His children: Joy (Charles) Wolf, Michael (Jennifer) Doll, Mary Ann (William) Saindon, Frank Leo Doll, and John (Anne) Doll and by his stepchildren: Kathryn, Patrick, and Paul J. McCauley.
Frank is also survived by his 13 grandchildren as well as well as 6 great-grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews who love and will miss him very much.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Georgiana, a brother, Sgt. Gerald E. Doll of the Chicago Police Dept, and his first wife, Mary Ann (Grajkowski) Doll.
Friends and family will be welcomed at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth IN., to share memories and condolences with Frank’s family on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, from 4 to 7 p.m. EDT with Rosary immediately after.
A Mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St., Plymouth IN., for Frank, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. The Rev. Father William Kummer will officiate.
Franks Burial will be held in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Lemont, Illinois on Thursday October 27, 2011 at 12p.m.(12 NOON) Central Time
