Obama Visiting Argonne Next Friday to Talk Energy Policy

The focus of the trip is to “focus on American energy,” officials said.

President Barack Obama will return to his home state March 15, to visit Argonne National Laboratory, near Lemont, and discuss his energy policies, the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune are reporting.

An official told the Tribune that the trip is intended to “focus on American energy,” and may or may not also include comments on the impact on facilities like Argonne of funding cuts caused by the current sequester.

The Sun-Times notes that this is the President’s first trip to the Chicago area since speaking at Hyde Park Academy on Feb. 15; the First Lady visited McCormick Place on Feb. 28 to promote her physical-fitness campaign “Let’s Move.”

You'd think there would be spending cuts caused by the sequester that would not make funding this trip possible!

Don't you know that he and all of his minions are exempt from the spending cuts,
only the people that really work get hurt, as usual.

It's only a small reduction of the "increase" in the budget, not from the actual amount that will be spent. The government is still spending 15 billion dollars more than last year (money we do not have). Obama has a life long history of using everything for political gain; this is no different, spin, spin, spin.

Sue, probably only a photo opp. He isn't interested in people unless it's a benefit to him politically. It's not about the locals it's about him being King.

Does this president ever stop his campaigning? He attempts to pit one group of American's against another for his own political gain or manuevering.

And what a laugh, "energy policy", I ask, what energy policy? Unless kissing the Muslim world's rear and putting America's future in jeapardy is an authentic energy policy? And lets not forget all the failed attempts at green industry start-ups.
The only American that has gained from our recent energy policy is fat Albert Gore-
he is laughing himself silly all the way to the bank.

Are you being facetious because you disagree with him or do you literally think the president has no energy policy? His is pretty thorough.

There are plenty of successful green industry start ups by the way.

Brandon, Of course BO has an energy policy but it's not one that favors our country. And I agree with you he is pretty thorough, but the wrong goals.
Since you bring it up, name some names of companies that are making it on there own in the green industry?

There is value in meeting with the people that are researching and developing our energy technology of the present and future. Energy is pretty much #1 to the world. It affects all else, but especially the economy. Speaking there further accentuates the importance of the issue.

The fact that he does not have to campaign any more should show that this is not some PR stunt. I understand that those that dislike him or his politics find it hard to see the good in anything that he does. However, he has always stated how we cannot drill ourselves to energy independence and that more funding for places like Argonne are needed. This funding is good for our area and the world. We gotta stand together and judge each action on its merits. We are weak as many but strong as one.

The man campaigns daily. Even if he never runs for office again, that has no bearing on his insistence to gain popular support. That's only part of how his agenda works. He isn't concerned with compromise or ever working with the other side, it's about pushing his agenda and that means he needs to daily convince the public he is doing what is in their best interest even though it's just in the best interest of his agenda not necessarily the citizens. He is a brilliant man but not a brilliant President. A utopian view of BO is just that, a mirage.

I wouldn't say BRILLIANT man!
I'd say SCHEMING, CONIVING, DECEIVING,
that's different than being brilliant.
His goal is to keep his party, the corruptacrats in power forever to socialize the USA

Economy on the upswing, job creation, housing market improving, and the stock market has seen record gains over the past several days. Oh, I forgot for a minute, those types of stats are only a reflection on the office of the president if they are negative numbers. How silly of me.

Yes, that is funny, ha, ha, ha. Will get back to that later. Right now I'm working hard just trying to keep up with inflation caused by the many Trillions printed from nothing and backed by nothing.
